The formation of SARAPO went through different stages, it was once conceptualized, transformed to verbal discussions, written statement, the written statement was transferred to actualization by documenting the constitution and operation guidelines and code of conduct relevant to the international standard.
Saafi Relief for Agro Pastoral Organization was founded in Buur district, Baidoa region of Somalia on January 10th 2006. Saafi Relief for Agro Pastoral Organization is a voluntary non-governmental, non-political and non-profit seeking organization focusing on the provision of social relief and development programs/projects for Baidoa region. The project shall be implemented in Samakai area which is 47 km from Buur and 50 km from East of Baidoa. It comprises of 50 sub-divisions of which about 36 are occupied by farmers and the rest by pastoralists.
SARAPO takes various forms, including providing assistance to large numbers of rural community via international organizations. SARAPO gives careful consideration to the circumstances of the recipient communities, and chooses methods that correspond to requirements and needs of those communities, provide appropriate guidance, and advice. .
